Holding What Was Taken

What we can, we take.
The taking and the can
depending on the taker.
Could it be that what the we take is what we cannot
hold?
Why must it always fall to who is being
taken
to see if we did what we could?
Many are the ones that suffer.

Many are the ones that take.
Much is always said,
not much is ever held.
As if the holding of what was taken
from the center of our hand
would weigh
as lightly as we lie.
